Fishing Trip [allora]

I sat on the banks of the large lake a few miles outside Elkwood, the river from the town fed into this body of water and in turn a river on the other side led out into the ocean an hour's swim away. I had brought up the idea of fishing for fresh food the last time I visited Mori and Allora seemed interested so we arranged to meet here. I had brought two poles and a can of bait, sitting under a tree as the sun started to rise over the tree tops I appeared to be the most relaxed person in the world. When I had summoned Kamehoshi a week ago and learned about a special member of the turtle family that would prove very useful for this trip but I would wait for my friend to arrive.

She walked up and saw Takoda waiting and waved to him. Allora had made a basket lunch to take along so that they could keep up their strength during the day since Takoda, while very provisional and prepared, was not very practical at remembering to bring his own lunches. Moshi, a cat from the village she had named tagged along beside her happily meowing at the scent of the ocean. She was excited to go out fishing with him since it was always pleasant to get a little time to just be kids again and she loved the ocean with all of the creatures that lived in or around it.

I saw the elf girl walking over carrying what looked like some food and my stomach growled a little to remind me that I had forgotten to bring food. Later we would have fish to cook and eat but I had managed to skip breakfast and was starving before we even put the first worm on the hook. I waved to her and got to my feet, a big goofy grin on my face a I did so.

She noticed the way he was eyeing the food and tossed a roll to him from the basket. "You still haven't grown out of missing breakfast in this many moons?" Allora called out teasingly while coming to a stop in front of him, Moshi meowed a hello and then set about exploring. The two of them stood a few feet apart and she waited for his reply and on his ideas for the day.

I caught the roll and stuffed the whole thing in my mouth, giving me large puffed out cheeks as I chewed. When she asked about my eating habits I swallowed the roll whole and sighed in relief. "Why would I need to learn that with you around?" I laughed a bit and then looked at the poles, I wanted to show off but there was no fun in something unless it was built up. "Well, if you want we can start fishing here on the shore but there isn't much to catch here. They all hang out in the middle of the water, I do have a way to get out there without going back for a boat though. Want to see?" I would stand there with my hands in my pockets waiting to see what she wanted to do.

She looked at him quizzically "Well I suppose this couldn't be any worse than some of your other wild ideas so sure I'd like to see". Allora began to nibble on a roll while she waited to see what he had in store.

I grinned and started doing handseals, when I finished them I bit my thumb to draw a small trickle of blood and then touched the ground. A cloud of smoke exploded and as the cloud cleared I felt a bit more chakra than normal drain from me than the last time I summoned this turtle.

Sheldon: "So then, guess you want to go fishing again Takoda?"

I nodded and he smiled a bit, though I saw something different on his back, a smaller red shell with spikes. I walked over to it and started poking it to see what was going on.

Allora looked impressed by his new summon, "And who is this fine fellow?" she asked looking at the turtle. Moshi started hissing at the red shelled creature so she picked him up into her arms.

As I poked the red shell a bit more a mouth came out and bit my finger. I tensed up and didn't do anything for a moment, complete and unfitting silence as I didnt dare move. But then the reality of the pain set in and I yelled at the top of my lungs. Shaking my arm around with the apparent turtle still attached to my finger in an attempt to fling him off as I ran around the area still yelling.

I tried, unsuccessfully, to stifle a giggle as the scene unfolded in front of me. Takoda had really done it this time, I wasn't sure quite what the creature was but it seemed to have a strong disdain for any authority Takoda tried to impose. Moshi immediately leaped into action and attempted to assist by attacking the red shell but instead wound up attached to Takoda's face. It was all too much for me as I started to feel a bit bad for just how compromising the situation was for his pride. I went over to collect Moshi and also tickled the red shell with a finger, "Come now can't you behave any better than that in the presence of a lady at least."
