The first days of travel with the sealed Hachibi were troublesome. Takeru found the beast grew restless if he didn't eat or sleep for copious amounts of time and for the first leg of the journey was only able to travel for six hours at a time, a pitiful amount. Still the extra strength granted him by the bijuu meant that time was well spent and he quickly found the frozen plains of ruined Korigakure fading away. He was headed back to Morigakure to report his success to the Empire and determine his next objective. With the war escalating since the disasters six months before hunting down the Yonbi had taken a backseat, but he wasn't too worried as with the Hachibi his eventual revenge was assured. As he travelled he contemplated his place in the Empire now and found that he was no longer interested in the utter destruction of the rebels as he once was. The thought troubled him and he spent many nights restlessly struggling with the issue, angering the dormant hachibi inside him. Eventually he met a lone wagon driver headed back to Morigakure who graciously offered Takeru a ride, freed from the burden of having to walk he found he slept again for the better part of each day.
