Section 2: Personality

Personality: Though Ren is quite calm he is the type of character that can make friends with everyone, and if not friendship, then at least respect. However, Ren is always training. looking to increase his ninja skills any chance he gets. Ren has a somewhat carefree personality and is regularly late for most things, making up excuses. Sometimes he can be quite depressing, like during a battle against a strong enemy. Though people may sometimes mistake him for being stupid in situations, he is quite smart. Despite his inherently gentle nature, Ren has displayed that he is ruthless when facing powerful enemies.

Likes: Ren spends most of his time training training on his skills to become a respected shinobi and improving his Taijustsu.

Dislikes/Fears: Ren's biggest fear is disgracing his clan and not becoming the shinobi that he wants to be. Ren is also quite impatient, he hates to wait on anyone, especially if it is his opponent. Ren also hates when people act weak or just plain weak people, though he is kind when he encounters a weak person he gets quite angry.

Motivation: Ren's motivation is to become a respected shinobi throughout his clan, And make the Hyuga clan be known as the strongest clan.

Bloodline: Byakugan

Bloodline Ability: Members of the Hyūga clan all inherit a powerful dojutsu from the ancestors, it leaves their eyes almost featureless with the absence of both the iris and the (visual) pupils. When the bloodline trait is activated the pupils become seen slightly in the center of the eye in addition to veins branching out from the eye itself becoming pronounced, this is the Byakugan. The primary ability of the Byakugan gives the user a near 360º field of vision, except for one blind spot at the back of the neck above the first thoracic vertebra. Upon activation of the dojutsu, the wielder is granted a field of vision larger than that of normal people. The size of this field is dependent on the clan member's level of power (rank).

The second ability of the dojutsu is the ability to see chakra, chakra flow and even chakra circulation within a living being in color. This ability is utulized by clan members when battling and using their gentle fist style. Though genin have not yet developed their eyes enough all Hyūga of at least chunin rank can see not only the chakra of a living being but also the individual nodes through which it passes, this ability is normally put to the most use in tandem with the gentle fist style to stop or speed the flow of chakra but an advanced user of this ability has great potential as a medical shinobi given the advantage they have over any of their peers.

History of Clan: Those born into darkness are always watched and often feared by those born in light, this is the case for the great Hyūga clan though most people fool themselves by masking this fear as respect. In the darkness of the mountain tunnels even long before the formation of the hidden village these people thrived due to their powerful eyes, eventually opening up to others for use of their land such as the Nara, though there has always been a bit of tension between the two families due to early struggles to claim the mountain centuries ago. When the village was formed the people brought in much more light than there had been before and for the first time in generations people were able to clearly see the blank white eyes of the Hyūga, the almost demonic aura given off by people with such a look as well as their comfort in darkness was the root of the fear that grew despite the open and giving nature of the clan. Struggles broke out though due to ridicule from the newcomers, eventually some Hyūga snapped and started attacking people upon insult. Act such as this quickly led to a clan civil war that resulted in one family rising as the level headed leaders and all others being considered branch families that were seen as unstable and sometimes dangerous even though the radical Hyūga movement died out generations ago. Since then there has been much tension between the main and branch families but they keep most if not all of their disputes within the clan so outsiders including the kage are often unaware of any real problems that happen on their land.

Location of Clan: Chikagakure




Character History: Ren was born in the village hidden underground, Chikagakure on November 30th. Into a house of three, him his mother and his older brother. The day of his birth was also the day of his fathers disappearance. His father went on a mission to another village but never returned. Ren's mother, Mizuki was a nurse at the local hospital, but that wasn't enough to live on so they lived in poverty. Ren's older brother, Hiro had just been promoted to Jounin, which helped with the bills, but Hiro had a grudge against the head family and wanted to destroy them for making them live in poverty as they had the easy life.

Ren looked up to his brother who helped him with his byakugan and Taijutsu, which really helped him as he wasn't the quickest learner. As time went by Ren had nearly mastered his byuakugan and same with his Taijutsu. During the night Ren had heard crying from downstairs and went down to see what was wrong. His mother told him that Hiro went to try to kill the head family but was killed by the guards. Ren couldn't believe the brother he looked up to and admired would try something like that. With his brother dead his mother had to work more and was barely ever around. As time went on Ren's ninja abilities started lacking as he had know one to help him. The day of the Genin exams he easily passed but didn't feel like he deserved it.

Ren walked into the room that used to belong to his brother, which was the first time he entered it since his brother was killed. He saw a piece of paper with writing on it under the bed. It read. "Ren if you are reading this then you have finally excepted my death and decided to finally read it. You are a powerful ninja and you will be a strong shinobi in due time. little brother I love you and I hope you can forgive me." As Ren grew teary-eyed, as it said to look on the back. Their were instructions on one of the strongest Hyuga taijustu technique, Gentle Fist. It also said to become a great shinobi that even surpass the head family. Ren then started his training on mastering the gentle fist. After months of training and mastering the Gentle Fist, he felt he was finally ready to try for the Chunin rank and awaited for the next Chunin exams.

RP Sample: Ren and another Genin from the village were having a training fight. "Gentle Fist." Ren said as he activated his byakugan and started attacking at his chakra network, but not enough to severly damage him. Ren delivered many blows knocking the kid out before he even had a chance. "Man I hope the Chunin exams will be coming soon, I need a good challenge." Rem thought as he wlked off and headed back to his usual training redgament. Ren arrived at home from a long day of training, his mother was in the kitchen as she was nearly done with dinner. "Hi mom, how was your day." Ren asked as he whipped sweat from his forehead. She sighed but didn't answer. "Long day I assume." Ren thought as headed into his room and once again looked at the letter from his brother and sighed. "Why'd you have to do that Hiro, I miss you brother. But I will fulfill your final wish and become a great shinobi even better then the head family." Ren thought with his fist clenched tightly
