[Chuunin Exams] Second Phase - Written Exam

The second phase of the Chuunin exams is a written exam. Participants will have to post a single 200 word post in the Written Exam topic detailing their attendance and performance of said test. They will then PM their answers to the Proctor Account who will ascertain whether they have passed or failed. To receive a passing grade they must have answered at least 80% of the questions correctly. After the exam has finished the passing participants will be posted and a bracket for the Third Phase drawn up.

to the situation you are now in.

PM all answers to 'The Proctor'. The second phase will end at 6am PST April 18th. After that the Final phase will begin.

I entered the large lecture hall of a room and made my way to a desk to get ready for this written exam. I was by far not an idiot but then again test taking had never been my forte so this may be a hit and miss for me. I took the pencil in my hand and flipped open the booklet to see my most dreaded opponent, math. Yes I am an illiterate pig with no vocabulary, I scanned the pages and noticed that at least the first three pages were nothing but equations which caused a slight groan from me, prompting an older shinobi at the end of the isle to put his finger over his mouth and shush me. After taking a moment to clear my head I got to work, 'lets see, if the trajectory of a shuriken stays true to the northernmost direction and is thrown with 300 newtons of force how far will it travel before landing on the ground assuming no targets get in it's path. Ignore wind resistance...what the hell do most of those words even mean?' After a moment I remembered things like this from the academy, the majority of the time allotted was more or less wasted getting through the math portion but luckily for me the rest was battle theory and opinionated questions for leading a team of your peers. I let out a soft sigh and tapped my test on the desk to straighten the pages before raising my hand to have a shinobi take my test to the Proctor at the from of the room. All done I laid my head down and took a nap until the bell rang for me to leave.

I walked into the large lecture hall room that the second phase of the exams were being held in. It was astonishing, but I needed to focus on the more pressing matter. I was never actually tested in written exam when I was training, since most of my skills were acquired on my own. I took my seat and waited for them to pass out the exam. Soon enough, I received mine and read over it. The questions weren't really that hard. Simple scenarios involving village attacks or missions. There was some occasional math there too. I powered through these sections and kept reading into the test. After a while, I'd found my weak spot. The test on genjutsu. I knew literally nothing of the illusion arts. I was a medic and assassin; a contradiction of sorts. I never vowed to save lives, only use my medical skills to take them or torture them. For all I cared, genjutsu didn't even need to exist. After struggling with the section, I decided to move on and guess on the ones I had no clue about. I finished the test shortly after, handed it in to the proctor-thing, or whatever that robot-pumpkin was. I left the room and returned to my apartment for some rest, waiting to see if I'd progress onto the next round.

Arizen entered the huge lecture room that he was to complete the second phase of the Exams in and sat at a random desk. He started to think about the questions he might be faced with while he waited for the sheets to be passed out. He was left with a feeling of suspense as sheets got handed out to the other contestants. After around 5 minutes, he was one of the last to get his paper. Finally! Now, let's see what's in here...

Most of them seemed easy enough. Battle theory, a bit of Maths, and a lot of History questions. He knew straight away that he would have trouble with the entire maths section, as well as some of the history questions. The battle theory, though, would be a piece of cake! Ok, I'll start with the battle theory first, since it's the easiest part.
This section took the least amount of time to complete.

Then, he got to the Maths section, which he spent the majority of his time struggling with. Ok, I'll try to answer these, but I'll just guess the harder ones so I don't run out of time.

Finally, the History. He remembered bits and pieces of it from the Academy, though some of them were simple enough to get right anyways. I mean, surely everyone's heard of that huge canyon containing a Bijuu.

He was one of the last to finish the test. While that partly had to do with getting the paper later than others, it was mostly because of the Maths section. He handed it in to the Proctor and walked out, resisting the urge to ask just what he even was.

Neru followed the other participants towards the next stage of the Chuunin Exams. He entered the room with the rest of the crowd. It was a huge examination hall, there were different examiners stationed at the sides of each seat. They had very clam and expressionless faces. As the final participants entered, the main examiner entered the room. Neru was already seated right in the middle of the room. The main examiner, a tall man, wearing dark clothes with a badge written "Examiner", stood before us and wished us luck with a goofy smile. The smile didn't look like it belonged on his face. Soon the examination papers were passed around and one landed on Neru's desk. Neru wrote his name and his shinobi I.D and began to read the first question. Neru then started skimming the rest of questions and smirked.
"This exam seems interesting". Neru thought. He quickly wrote down the answer and moved onto the rest. He stumbled upon a question that seemed really interesting. "If you and your team are on a critical mission but find that you are..
"Oh my, I'll save this for last". Neru thought as he went on to answer the rest of the questions. He finished the last question, and turned towards the interesting one. "Hmm.." Neru whispered with his hand in a fist, covering his mouth. He wrote the answer and raised his hand. An examiner walked over and grabbed his paper. Neru then was allowed to leave the room. As he walked out he saw the main examiner write 5 minutes on the board. He shoved his hands in his pocket and smiled, "Let's see whether I pass or not" Neru thought.

It felt like it had only been a few minutes ago since the last step of the Chuunin Exams, which was a bit of an exaggeration, but nonetheless I had to go to the second step. The second phase of the exams was held in a huge lecture room that looked a lot like a few of the rooms I had refurbished personally in the Academy of the Uchiha Hideout. I walked into the room, clad completely in my black jacket and skin-tight attire, and showed only my eyes. I had pulled out my notebook and pen to answer the questions on the paper in front of me when I noticed who was sitting directly in front of me. It was Takoda. "Shit.." I thought to myself, only praying that he wouldn't be able to smell me from behind him with that bear nose of his. My only hope was to hurry up with this test and finish as soon as possible without failing. "Shut up, you peon. Making them think you were dead was a terrible idea anyway. If you hadn't, I'd have more people to order around! Ha!" A voice echoed through my head. "Shut up! They'd be in danger if they knew I was alive. Keep your mouth shut, you pompous idiot." I scolded the being that had been cursed into my blood at the doing of Shinobu and the Sora Seal. "Fine, I didn't want to help you anyway," he said back shortly. The rest of the written test went on like that, me arguing pointlessly with the cursed spirit etched into mine about which answers were right, all the while holding back from screaming at my best friend in the world that I was right behind him.

When news of the second phase finally reached her ears, Myeong just about screamed with excitement. Finally! Something fun to do! Grinning widely, she skipped down the hall to the exam room. As she entered, Myeong's grin widened. This was the first time she was going to see all of the exam testers in one place. It would be stupid of her to go in so soon. So, she leaned back, hanging around by the door as people entered. Her bright green eyes caught sight of everyone entering the room, analyzing them one by one. When she was sure most of the testers had entered the room, she followed them with a hop and a skip. This test was going to be fun! As Myeong settled down into her seat, she began the test, answering all the questions absent mindedly as she surveyed the information she had just gathered.

The first person she noticed was a young boy, probably only a couple of years older than her! He looked troubled about the questions, of course, Myeong didn't know what he was troubled about. The test was either factual or emotional. So this kid was either really stupid or really doubtful about himself. Of course, being test stupid didn't mean he'd be just as stupid in combat, but it did mean he'd be less likely to notice traps. Myeong liked that. When he finished his test, he fell asleep to wait for the exam to end. What a chill guy, thought Myeong as she looked down to fill on some mathematical problems.

Looking back up, this time her eyes landed on the oldest person in the room. This person was interesting. His age would either prove to be an advantage or a cripple. Someone his age taking the exam certainly preluded to failures in the past. He was either really weak, or he had some reason to have never taken the exam. So, he would either be the easiest opponent or one of the most difficult. Of course, that also left the question if he was actually earnestly taking the exam. Some people only took it to gather information... Her eyes followed him slightly as he left the room.

Her eyes drifted over to the Uchiha in the skin tight suite. Well, it looked like he was wearing a jacket now. That was good, but pants couldn't hurt that much could they? Sighing, Myeong looked down to her test. It would probably be wise to actually pay attention to her exam. When she looked down, her eyes rested on a morality question. A cold glaze simmered across her eyes for a brief moment before she continued to finish up the exam and wait to be released.

Ki would enter the the room with a smile on his face, the first phase was out of the way and done with, although it was a little bit too easy either that or Ki was just thinking that way to boost confidence either way it was easy. He took his seat and gave the front page of his test a long cold stare as the smile he originally had slowly faded away (had to be a written exam in here too didn't it?). He would face palm and release a small groan tests sucked no matter who you were no one liked tests and yet here he was having to take one. He would pick up his pencil and begin, it was fairly easy in the beginning but towards the end things turned for the worse as multiple things Ki was unsure about tend to arise, it was quite upsetting. He would take a break for a second, opening and closing his hand as it was evident he was gripping the pencil to hard. He would look around the room and spotted some people whom looked familiar, there weren't alot, how ever there did seem to be a lot of Morigakure genin participating. Ki would spot Takoda before he put his head down to rest (ha he seems so chilled out even though his friend had been captured by the enemy and all that maybe he's putting it off for now or something) Ki would return facing foward and return to the test. He would take a deep relaxing breath and finish off what remained of the test. He would drop his pencil, stand up and stretch before sitting back down and staring at the far wall for the remainder of his time there.

I entered the examination room and there seemed to already be a bunch of people there, of course I was late. I quickly sat down in my chair and began looking at the test. A lot of this was pretty simple stuff dealing with history and basic battle strategies, they were all things I went over constantly while being trained by the Lacerta nobles. I began to go through it all be eventually hit a brick wall of numbers and equations. I began to shake a bit, it was my old nemisis. Battle Physics. I looked at the first problem and nearly gave up, how the hell was I supposed to figure this one out? I then looked down to Shiro, then up to the crowd and then back. I then began to click-sing something to Shiro to make it seem like I was simply clicking a bored tune "Hey there Shiro, do you wanna be my hero? My results on this test are looking bleak, my strength in this area is pretty weak, but use your size to look around these guys and look for this questions...prize." I looked down to Shiros red eyes and saw him laughing at me in his mind, he knew why I had to sing-click it and knew what I was asking, but he always enjoyed giving me a hard time. He then began to scurry around hunting for an answer and when he succeed he scurried back and allowed me to finish the test on a good note. I then laid my head down and began to rest until the end of the exam, hoping that the results were good enough to give me a passing grade.

Finnik walked through the door that led to the large lecture which he was told to go. He looked around, three rows of large wooden tables sat around the room, one in the middle, and one of each side with walkways in between. He made his way to a corner away from everyone else and took his seat. They then started passing out the test, when he got his he immediately started reading over it, and with a sigh and a push back of hair, he lifted up the pencil to his side, and started. The first few questions were easy, but then he started struggling a bit, so he sat there, watching the timer tick away at the front of the room. He started studying everyone in the room. The bear kid, The skin tight clothes guy, The Puffy Hair, The Fellow White Hair, along with a few people he didn't know. He looked back at his test, writing down the answer to the one he struggled with not only a minute ago. "Thinking is all it takes" he heard his "dad" say in his mind. Finnik answered the rest of the questions with ease from there on out, his pencil scratching against the paper. Though he did struggle he got the right answers on all of them, well.. He thinks.

Sora cracked his knuckles as he sat down to take the written exam, the others in the room looked sick with worry as they took their own seats. He cracked a slight grin as the test started and he flipped through the papers, the questions weren't even hard in the slightest. While the humans had to spend a copious amount of time practicing techniques his own abilities came easily to him due to them being as simple as breathing, as such he had plenty of time to prepare for any written material that would pop up during the exams. He scribbled down answers almost as soon as he read the questions, pausing only here and there to do some calculation or other. He finished quickly and lounged back in his chair as he dozed off to the sound of the other genin furiously scribbling down answers, he could almost hear them sweating with stress.

Kushino entered the Exam room, her head held high and a wicked grin spread across her face. This written exam would be the easiest by far, knowledge was her thing, it would come as no surprise if she placed high in this exam. Kushino took her seat immediately awaiting for the tests to be handed out, her eyes were focused on the clock that sat opposite her, she was going to test herself to see just how long it would take to finish. Kushino was handed her test and was told to start, her eyes went from the clock and straight to the test, her hand taking hold of her pen in a quick motion. The room was silent apart from the sound of pens hitting paper, specifically Kushino's. Her hand and mind moving in tune with each other leaving each question being done faster then the last ''Hmmpph this is Academy stuff'' She scoffed loudly. Kushino reached her last question with a large smile on her face, it was the easiest of them all, there was no way she could get it wrong. Kushino slammed her hands on the desk raising her test into the air ''DONE!'' She roared startling a few of the other participants.
