Enjoying the Day

I stopped and held my ground, digging my feet in to hold steady as I folded my hand into a gun and took aim at the pole she was now standing on. The chakra formed into a bright light at the tip of my index finger which then shot out to destroy it by knocking it over to slam into the ground. Watching where she would dodge to I would make my way there with both claws out swinging for the food.

Myeong narrowed her eyes as his hands began to move. She fell back, falling into the tent canvass as the pole she had just been standing on as destroyed. Using the falling tarp as a slide, Myeong slid onto the street. Her movements would be covered by the falling cloth until she found herself in a crowded street, waving a streak around. "Come on Takoda! Slooooww!" she cheered as she ducked behind a passing merchant cart.

As she started sliding I had already started my way to the street and blended in with the crowd as she called out to me. Using that I got an idea of where she was and ran on ahead while she messed around by trying to hide. I rolled under the cart to catch her off guard and once again start going for the steak.

She squealed as she fell back. Myeong had expected something like that, but if this fight carried on any longer, she'd end up showing all her tricks. So, as she fell back, the meat sliding away, her green eyes glared up to Takoda. "Look what you did!?" she cried out as she pointed to the steak now laying in mud.

I looked at the food in the mud and shrugged, relaxing my hands so that the claws flipped back and retracted behind my hand. I sighed as the prize had been lost meaning that while I had not been defeated I would not be able to claim a victory. "Oh well I guess."

Myeong glared at him, crossing her arms with a huff. Standing up, she brushed off some of the dirt from her jacket. "You're buying me another steak!" she said, grinning widely as she looked back to the steakhouse. The employees were trying to clean up the mess they just made. "Erm... I don't think we'll be allowed back there.."

I brushed my hair back with my fingers and looked her over coldly, "That trick you have, moving things without touching them. How does it work?" I would move my hands into my pockets as I stood there waiting on an answer.

Myeong ran a hand through her hair, catching his cold gaze. She simply stuck her tongue out. "That's a secret," she snickered, tilting her head. He thought she had moved the steak without touching it? How adorable! "Your clan doesn't share it's secrets with outsiders, so I wont share my techniques either."

I shook my head and sighed, she was going to play hard to get with the answers but I needed to know these things. I had already failed once and it got my friend landed in a rebellion p.o.w. cell so I had to pass these exams for tougher missions to get stronger. That way things like that would never happen again. "You will tell me, one way..." I clenched my fists to draw the claws out before I said the last part, "...or another."

Her eyes looked him over as he shook his head and sighed. He had baggage, quite a bit of it. However, if he kept acting like that, then he wouldn't survive long enough to handle it. She stepped over to an empty portion of the sidewalk and sunk down. As she sat, her hands retracted from the sleeves of the jacket and formed a signal, hidden by the bulk of cloth they now laid under. Myeong leaned against the fall of the building, her knees pressing against her chest. "So you'd start a fight with someone who's skill level you have yet to be able to assess simply to gain knowledge that will be available to you within three days free of charge?" she asked, staring at him. "Ha! Now I feel the need to assist you even more. If you're left to your own devices, you'll probably get killed."

I was annoyed now, she wasn't taking me seriously at all and this was not something I felt the need to mess around about. An aggravated sigh escaped me as I looked at her, my cold eyes slowly starting to melt with the raging fire burning in my mind. "I don't need your help kid, now tell me what I want to know before you force me to beat it out of you." I would dig my feet in again, preparing myself for retaliation as she as right, so far my knowledge of her skills was near nothing.

Myeong's eyes narrowed sharply as he called her a kid. She took in a deep breath before smiling softly, "You're calling me a kid? You're only, what, two years older than I? Are you so arrogant?" Her green eyes flickered for a moment as she continued to charge chakra beneath her jacket. "I know you're probably thinking that you can use my techniques to gain something to help you with your friend, yes? Well, stop it. Leeching enviously off of others will only make you a half rate jack of all trades."

My chakra flared as she dared to question my motives, it steadily began to form into something for her if she decided to keep this tough girl act up. "I could care less about your skills in the long run, I just have to make sure you lose in the tournament because I have to win." I got this feeling one of use wouldn't be walking away from this unscratched but she was a fellow member of Morigakure so my mind was a mess as I wondered if this assault would be looked at with dishonor. MY face would express these conflicting feelings through my nose and mouth twitching though my eyes stayed sharp and steady.

Her smile didn't drop once. Her green eyes stared up at him as she tilted her head with a slight chuckle. "I'm ashamed to have you share the same village as I." she giggled. Then, her eyes grew cold and her smile faltered as the chakra charged beneath her coat. "You are a lost child, trying pathetically to get ahead for whatever reason. You lack confidence and skill, so you're trying to win using dishonorable methods against someone from your own village. You have to make sure I don't win? Is your trust in your skills so lacking that you need to attack someone two years your junior outside of the tournament to learn their skills? If you do that, then you've just proven you're not ready for a rank up."

Once more my chakra flared up as she judged me. Things like this normally wouldn't have gotten to me but after what happened to Hebi something deep with me had changed, today that change was for the worse. I would grit my teeth and I dug even deeper into my stance to responded in a harsh tone, "Fresh out of the academy and already judging people? You weren't in Elkwood when it burned so don't act all high and mighty brat." My arms were tense almost to the point of throbbing from how hard I was clenching my fists, it had been years since something had gotten me this angry.

Myeong remained sitting, calmly staring at him with cold green eyes. As his body language changed and became more aggravated, her's remained the same, albeit tenser than before. Her eyes drifted down from him, staring at the passing strangers' countless feet. "No... and I'm glad. I've had enough visions of genocide etched harshly into my head. Have you ever watched people mercilessly slaughtered for no reason other than being different? Elkwood had a reason, something other slaughters may not possess. One year, two years, what's the difference in the long run? Don't get a swelled head just because your parents got horny a couple of years earlier than mine." Her voice had become grated, jaded as she spoke.

My hands went limp all of a sudden, though she hand't meant it that way what she just said had been interpreted as that the Rebellion had a good reason to attack a non-shinobi village full of common people. Suddenly my whole head twitched and jerked to the side as my chakra finished piling up. All of a sudden my mind went blank and I looked at her like a wild animal, something the Kuma were known for doing when their minds were gone and nothing but their fists remained.

Her eyes stared at him. If he wanted to lose his temper like a wild animal, then she'd have no choice but to treat him as one. Of course, she wouldn't lay the first finger on him. No, it would be his dishonor that this fight would end with. So, in preparation, she continued charging her chakra, glaring at him. "Failing to use words... and moving straight into blind rage. You'd be a pretty pathetic chuunin."

I lost it at that point, I stumbled forward and pulled my fist back, the chakra I had been building up was released all at once to turn my arms into killing machines. It swung at a speed that was unreal for someone of his rank with enough force to perfectly rival the bite of a fully grown crocodile. The punch was aimed at her stomach but if she dodged there was something planned out for her already.

Crippling Strike:

Sora had been sitting calmly listening to the two argue, these damned shinobi had respect for the village that was hosting them being so noisy and disruptive. He recognized the two from the written exam and with the third phase so close shook his head at their idiocy, fighting so close to a tournament, they were even in the same village. Their arguing was almost acceptable at the start but now the stupid bear boy was angry and acting aggressive towards the girl, obviously his junior by a few years. Sora got to his feet and had barely taken a step towards the pair when the boy twitched ever so slightly as his eyes changed, signalling his imminent attack. Sora could see the pure rage in Takoda's eyes and knew nothing would be held back in his imminent strike. His body changed in an instant and jets formed beneath his billowing cloak, propelling him across the room at greatly increased speed. He drew Andlát as he soared across the room and changed his body once more, his torso adapting to swing the hammer with greater precision and force, he swung the large hammer the moment he was in range of the boy and the hammer swung through the opening made by his punch. With great precision he stopped the hammer just as it touched Takoda's skin, letting Andlát freeze the boy's chakra and sealing it away momentarily. At the very last moment it released a shockwave that would lift the boy off his feet and send him off his feet and through the air. The whole process would do no damage, Sora didn't intend it to. As he completed the maneuver he rested the haft of Andlát on his shoulder and coldly glared at the boy. "Don't go starting fights in my village punk, if you're that eager to fight save it for the exams." His cloak billowed as it settled around his shoulders once more, concealing his morphs.

Myeong raised her hands, her jacket fluttering as she lifted them. However, before she could do anything, a blond boy with a hammer appeared. Almost immediately, she began to analyze the newcomer. He was older than either of them, most likely between fifteen and seventeen. The boy obviously felt like he was better than either of them, and this was his village. However, he was still a genin despite being older than them. Myeong couldn't help but grin at this fascinating subject! Her hands both lowered quickly, hiding once more under her coat. "Thank you for that!" she said cheerfully, bowing her head politely to the blond boy.

Out of instinct another burst of chakra came out of my fist to make sure I connected with my target even if she attempted to get out of the way. The destructive force of my punch was expanded to do damage to everything within a foot of my hand, splintering and breaking the wood of the vendor's cart to my side to make his produce fly out into the street. The entire force of this punch would have landed on the girl in an ever wider area than normal but this was halted by an older kid tapping me with a hammer. Somehow it managed to halt my chakra, resulting in my punch only causing both his and her hair to fly back. His timing had managed to stop any real damage from happening to the two of them but my strength had been shown on the merchant's cart as he grabbed the sides of his head and called out in agony, "MY CABBAGES!!!" The force of the hammer had sent me straight backwards about ten meters which ended with me landing on one knee. I would look at the weapon as I rose back to my feet and the kid pulled it away. I then turned my gaze to him, the furious rage gone and replaced with confusion though hints of anger were still present. "Pretty cocky for someone so young, and last I checked this village was home to samurai not shinobi." I would only now drop my fist to my side though my glance would never falter from his eye.

Sora barked a short laugh and derisively addressed the boy. "And you're a little shithead for a guest in this place, besides i'm not like you run of the mill shinobi." He turned and looked at the girl as he dropped the head of his hammer to the ground, producing a dull thus as it struck the pavement. "You aren't much better frizz, didn't your parents teach you not to pick fights with people older and bigger than you."

Myeong looked to Takoda as he spoke. Yep. This one was an idiot! She clicked her tongue before grinning widely toward the blonde. She laughed lightly and scratched the back of her head. "Sorry! I was never taught manners!" she said light heartedly.

I started walking forward until the gap between me and the new kid was no more than five feet while he spoke to the girl. In this time I managed to clear my head and be as much at peace as I could. "Why did you interfere? Our conflict was none of your concern even if you seem to fancy yourself a kage with that tone."
