The Sixth Sword of the Divide: The Witchblade Witchblade_zps72a2f490

Type of Equipment: Chain Blade
Description: The Witchblade is 3 feet in length, 2 feet of which are blade, and the other foot is hilt. The blade is an inch in thickness and runs from a foot in width at the hilt to a foot and a half at the end of the blade, as well as having a large curved front. There are several points on the blade, including the pointed end and two six inch spikes on the bottom of the blade. Veins run through the blade and turn red when the effects of the blade are active.

The hilt hilt of the blade resembles the face of a demon, with the blade coming from the mouth. There are spikes on the top and bottom of the demon face that are as sharp as the blade itself (The top spike is the demon's horn and is 6 inches long, the spike on the bottom is only 3 inches). The grip of the blade is an inch and a half in diameter and has a two inch spike on it as well. A golden chain is connected to the end of the hilt than runs ten feet in length.
Ability:
A True Warrior's Bond: When The Witchblade is discovered, the person who grabs it has the chain wrap around their arm up to the shoulder. This chain burns into flesh, creating a tattoo like scar on the user. If the sword is thrown, the 10 foot chain will return and wrap itself back around the warriors arm. The chain is permanently imbued in the skin of the wielder. This doesn't impair movement, and the sword can be unhooked from the chain and sheathed if necessary, though the chain will remain in place. The chain is as indestructible as the sword itself.

A Gift of The Phoenix:
Like all the Seven Swords of the Divide, the Witchblade grants the user a 20% bonus in kenjutsu.

The Great Rift:
Requires a one post charge. The veins that run through the blade glow orange as the effect activates, allowing the user to drag the blade across the ground, creating a massive crack. This crack runs so deep, it is questioned that there is no bottom. This crack can be used for both offensive and defensive purposes, allowing the user to avoid jutsu by jumping in and holding on to the uneven surfaces. The crack only runs as long as the blade is dragged and is 4 feet wide.

As well as creating a trench, creatures from hell climb from the trench to aid in combat. There are three of these creatures, and they are each 8 feet tall. The wielder must use the horn on the head of the demon-hilt to draw blood from himself in order for the gargoyles to obey him. They each have jonin-level stats, and each has a black katana with blades being four feet in length, hilts being one foot, and being made of steel.

Gargoyles:

The Plague of the Underworld:
The blade has a terrible quality, a venomous feature that allows the wielder to torture his opponents. If the blade makes contact with skin from the target, the curse spreads through the vaneous system. It appears on the outside that the veins and arteries become black and very visible, but to the victim, the pain is excrutiating. It slowly spreads to the entire body, engulfing the victim in intolerable pain. It starts in the area hit. In the next post, it spreads out in all directions on the body for 6 inches. On the post after, it spreads for 12 more inches, covering 18 inches total diameter of effect. On the fourth post, it spreads for 14 inches, making the diameter of pain 32 inches. On the fifth post, it affects the entire body, and this lasts for two more posts afterwards. While each area is affected, speed and strength are reduced by 20% for any body part in the diameter. While the entire body is affected, for the three posts of being fully affected, Jounin-rank ninja and below are paralyzed with sheer pain (Genin and Chuunin black out immediately after it ends). For S-rank, they are faced with a 50% drop in every stat until the curse recides, including all jutsu power and physical prowess. If it hits a weapon, not only does it cleave the weapon in half because of its indestructibilty, but if the weapon was titanium-grade or lower, it disentigrates the rest of the weapon, and causes the curse to start in the victim's hand. If a weapon is hit that is anything of greater durability, the curse does not affect the weapon.

Durability: Like all the other Seven Swords of the Divide, The Witchblade is indestructible and can chip diamond.

History of Item: Excerpt from the history of Jokigakure:

"The Sun Flare province is a vast range of volcanoes along with boiling oceans. Many historians attribute the creation of the province to a deity worshiped by the Hono, a native cult of the area. This deity is called "The Phoenix," and is believed to be a messenger from hell sent to spread wrath armed with his twin blades, the Witchblade and another unknown sword almost identical.

According to legend, The Phoenix bestowed his weapon to the leader of the cult in return for human sacrifices to give him power. The cult leader agreed and was granted the blade, but at the cost of it burning into his arm. He led the cult, making human sacrifices using the blades plague ability, hoping to one day restore the power to the Phoenix.

Years came and went, seasons passed, but nothing happened. The cult remained faithful, so faithful in fact, that they decided to sacrifice the next in line to be the leader. When this was done, a bright explosion happened, setting the fire that created the Smoldering Forest. It is believed that this was the Phoenix returning for his blade, others think that he was finally ready to ravage the Earth. After that, the survivors moved into the village and the blade was lost. Only vague clues have been found as to where it might be located but have not been proven true. It all leads back to the sacrificial alter and the temple is all that is known for sure."

Smoldering Forest

Sword: The Witchblade

Province: Sun Flare Province: Smoldering Forest

Sub-Location: Hidden deep within the Smoldering Forest in a temple built in the model of old Hindi temples. The temple is called the Temple of Kali, the goddess of death and time. A huge statue of her rests with her legs crossed on top of the temple. The temple itself is topped with a dome and is 200 feet tall. The statue is 30 feet tall.

Dungeon Description: The dungeon is in the inside of Kali's temple. Lining the walls are several torches modeled after arms, with the hands being what hold the torches. It is a labyrinth, a very winding and confusing building filled with many minions and creatures dedicated to protecting the temple. There are roughly 50. These minions include tigers, crazed worshipers (natives), and other venomous bugs. The tigers' claws and worshipers' weapons are all made of steel or are as strong as steel. They are all matching the stats of an average Genin. The exploration of the dungeon must reach a minimum of 3,500 words. (This can be accomplished with help from a single partner and nothing more).

Mini-boss The mini-boss of this dungeon must be fought within the dungeon-exploration part of the topic.

Spoiler:

Boss: The statue of Kali resting atop the temple is the boss, said to be Kali herself entering this world in the form of the massive statue to protect the relic of the Hono clan.

Spoiler:

Extra Loot: Ryo reward of 30,000 (Can be given in full to all participants). A Gauntlet of granite can be made from remnants of the statue after it is destroyed. (Registration must be made after the dungeon is completed. It will be free as long as it doesn't breach 12,000 Ryo.)
