Takeru stood looking out over the large field in front of him, he had come to this training ground on assignment to oversee the progress the Genin and Chuunin had been making, they had all been asked to come here at some point during the day so that he could evaluate their progress. He found the task a necessary evil, many of the younger ones were where he would expect them to be at their age, with the occasional stand out and one or two who were not up to par. In this time of war there were even greater expectations than usual, and those that fell behind would need extra attention. He made a note on a clipboard sitting on the table next to him. Two chairs had been placed there for himself and anyone he felt inclined to interview. For now he just watched, his good eye scanning the rows of shinobi assigned to this training session. Absently he itched at the skin beneath his eye patch, the heat was getting to him today.

Phade had been training all day, she was tired and needed to take a break. She looked around for a place to sit. Bingo, she spotted a chair. She started walking towards it but then she saw a big scary looking man sitting in another chair next to it. He had an eyepatch and a big burly mustache. Something about his appearance scared the life out of her. Her cheeks flushed red when she realized how long she had been staring at him, and knew he would probably have noticed her by now. She looked around frantically for somewhere to hide but it was too late.

Takeru glanced around when he felt an odd itch between his shoulders, to find one of the Chuunin he was meant to be examining standing red faced and staring right at him. He couldn't quite remember her name, he only knew a few of the ninja in the village by name. She had striking blue-green eyes, which her nearly black hair caused to stand out like a set of gems. He chuckled softly as she blushed, at first he had just thought her tired and red from the heat, but as her colour deepened it was clear she was embarrassed that she had been staring at him. He motioned with his hand for her to come and sit in the seat opposite him, she looked tired, and he was sick of watching the proceedings alone.

Phade saw him motion for her to sit next to him. She dared not make it more awkward then it already was, so she walked over and sat down, rather disdainfully. Once she sat down though she let out a huge sigh and could already feel her energy recharging. "H-hi there, Is there something you needed sir?" she asked, rather nervously

Takeru smiled as the girl sat down in the second chair at the table, now that she was closer he could see she was hardly a girl at all, but a young woman beginning to come into her own adult-hood. "No, no i wasn't after anything. You looked tired, some of trainers have been a little over zealous trying to impress me" Takeru glanced out over the training field again, here and there a person lay on the ground, or was squatting between exercises. "The truth is i was getting a little bored watching this training, there are only so many notes you can make" With the last he gestured to the clip board on the table with row after row of finely written notes.

Upon giving him a 'closer look Phade realized he wasn't scary at all, he was clearly a kind looking man, desp'ite his intimidating appearance. The color faded from her cheeks. "Ahh I see, Is it inspection day? That sounds awfully boring for you." she said, growing more comfortable. Now that she wasn't down in the training area she could clearly see all the other shinobi training, there were... a lot of exhausted students, she held back a laugh as she watched one flop on their back.

Takeru shrugged in answer to his companions question. "Yes, it tends to be incredibly boring, although the Kage needs me to do it for him. If i didn't we would all end up like that poor sod over there" He pointed to a rounder young man who half way during the exercise his trainer assigned him, fell flat on his face. As others rushed over to help him out there was a myriad of yells as they realized he had simply fallen asleep, and had not hurt himself. Takeru suddenly realised he still couldn't remember the girl's name. "How rude of me, i have not introduced myself yet. My name is Takeru, a pleasure to meet you miss...?" He left his voice trailing and raised an eyebrow in question at her.

Phade eyed the poor sod who fell asleep, and felt like she could fall asleep herself, she gave a yawn and then realized her thoughts had been drifting off, she looked at Takeru and noticed him looking at her expectantly, "Hmm? Oh right, my name is Phade, Phade Magunetto, its nice to meet you Takeru." she said kindly, "Your a Jonin right?" she asked, she already knew the answer but she was just trying to make conversation. She gave another yawn.

Takeru chuckled as Phade yawned for a second time, "I hope i'm not keeping you up?" In truth he himself felt like sleeping as well, since coming back from the library he had hardly had any sleep, and the little he did have while studying at the ancient building was no way near enough to keep him awake through these long days of inspections. "Yes, i'm a Jonin, though on days like today it seems more trouble than it is worth"

Phade held back another yawn, "No not at all, Its not even close to time for me to go to bed, I just need a break from training is all." she replied, looking up at the sun to check the time. "Ah thats a shame, I'm a Chunin by the way, working on becoming a Special Jonin." she sighed, "sadly I'm still a ways away from a promotion.". Phade leaned back in the chair and it almost fell, she leaned forward quickly to avoid the disaster, then looked around to make sure no one noticed.

Takeru held back the smile from his face as the girl almost fell off of her chair, though he wasn't sure he completely hid the amused look the threatened to cover his face. "We all need a break at some point, sadly mine won't be for a while yet, the Kage keeps piling it up on me. Maybe take your time with that promotion, enjoy not having copious amounts of paperwork" With that he lifted the heavy clipboard, its contents numbering into the tens of pages and let it drop back onto the table with a heavy thud. It was going to take him another couple of hours to sort through all the notes he made and file away some kind of report for Neo, he wasn't looking forward to it.

Phade laughed, "I'll take your word for it, I guess when lower ranks like me think of being Jonin they think of big battles and important missions, but thats clearly not the case." she said with a laugh. Takeru smiled warmly at Phade. "Big battles and important missions huh? I guess thats one way to look at it, a lot of the time it feels like more of the same really, and after a while you get kind of sick of needing to look over your shoulder all of the time. Your trainer? lets see..." Takeru picked up the clipboard and started looking through his notes, stopping when he came across her name. "Well says here your trainer works his students a little too hard on occasion, and there a footnote here about 'inappropriate remarks'. As for you, you met all the standars we require of a Chuunin quite easily." He placed the clipboard down and gave her a friendly smile. "You should be proud"

Phade smiled, "Thanks, I appreciate it, I've been working pretty hard. I'm hardly one to be prideful though. I do it for the village." She stood up from the chair and stretched her arms out, almost yawning but then deciding not to. "Well, I should get back to training, unless you want to take a break from your job?" she asked. She didn't really have anything in mind, possibly a spar, or something like that.

Takeru took another glance out over the training fields, this group was almost finished, and he had made the notes he needed to nearly an hour beforehand. The next group after this wasn't until tomorrow as it was. Rising from the table he looked at Phade, "Sure, i've got everything i need anyway, lead the way" He would follow wherever she went, he was well and truly sick of these inspections after two full days of them already, and a break wouldn't kill him.

Phade grinned, "Cool." She said, she dashed off towards the outskirts of the Village jumping from rooftop to rooftop on her way. She would eventually arrive to an excluded spot in the dunes outside the village. And wait for Takeru to arrive, hoping he followed her fine. The spot wasn't anything special, a large dune loomed over it and hid it from the village, making it seem like they were in the middle of nowhere.

With merely a moment's hesitation Phade dashed off across the rooftops. Takeru watched her go for a moment then chased off after her, he would have no trouble keeping up with her, but let her keep the lead so he had enough time to react to her direction changes. When they finally stopped in a secluded spot just outside the village he grinned, it really looked like they were in the middle of the Ressa, the village hidden from sight. "Nice spot"

She watched as he came down next to her, "Thanks, I found it back when I was a genin. It serves its purpose." She replied, "Its especially useful when I wanna get away from that trainer." she laughed. Phade jumped back about 10 feet from Takeru, "Well then, lets not waste time." she said as she lifted up dust and formed 12 senbon with it, with a flick of her wrist she propelled them at Takeru at 20 mph

Takeru reacted on instinct as the senbon flew at him, dashing to his left he watched with one eye as they whistled past him. He began to laugh, when she had said take a break he hadn't thought they would end up sparring. "This is your idea of a break? I thought you said you were worn out from training!" Still laughing he raised his hands and formed handseals, raising his palm thirty pressurized darts of water shot forth from his hand in a 6 ft spread, hurtling towards Phade. Sitting up onto the balls of his feet Takeru waited for her next move.

Phade lept to her right at 25 mph to dodge the darts, the dodge was narrow but it got the job done. Hearing hi question she blushed, raising her hand and rubbing her head. "Ughh, sorry I forgot to say what my intentions were, I had something on my mind." she said plainly. She lowered her hand and began making handseals, finishing quickly. Dust swarmed up into the form of a wolf, which Phade then jumped on top of to ride. She held out a kunai and waited for his move.

Takeru smiled. "I figured as much, next time though, i'd appreciate a little warning before you decide to shoot things at me out of the blue." He watched carefully as a wolf formed up in front of her, she drew a kunai but made no move to attack him. He shifted his weight slightly before making his move. Forming handseals he placed his palms on the earth. Two large stone hands rose out of the ground, stone writs and 'arms' trailing behind them. One formed up right behind Phade and another in front of her. The hand behind dashed forward to grab her in its grip while the other moved to block any attempt to escape. Standing up straight Takeru folded his arms and watched, he knew her speed from her training and was confident he would grab her, if she wanted to spar he might as well teach her a thing or two.

Phade tried to dodge the hands but to no avail, as she was caught in them, she grunted and tried to move free but she couldn't. She frowned and looked at him. "Well you got me. now what?" she asked, giving a yawn. She hated having her movement restricted, it was one of the most annoying things in the world to her. She sighed and waited for his response.

At the sight of her yawn Takeru gave her a grin, "Now, we're even" Takeru had the hand holding her up tip her upside down while the other waggled its finger at her, after a moment he let her back down onto the ground he brought the hands back to wait ready at his side. Such frivolous displays were somewhat out of character for him, but she wore such an indignant look on her face when he caught her it had reminded him of someone he once knew. "If this is so easy that you have to yawn, you should make Special Jonin in no time" Once more Takeru shifted his weight onto the balls of his feet, the stone hands next to him ready, he waited for Phade to make another move.

Phade smiled upon being released from the hand's grasp, a bit flustered from being held upside down. "Hey now, I never said this was easy." she replied, regaining her balance. Her wolf had been crushed by the hands sadly. She began making handseals and shifted her weight to her left, preparing to dodge if necessary, the hand seals were taking her a while and as such would give him time to do something if he chose too.

Takeru stood calmly with his hands at his sides, the stone hands moving into position in front of him as Phade began making hand seals, his hands would last a little longer before they collapsed so he trusted them to keep him safe for the time being. He simply stood ready, facing her. He grinned, "Those are some mighty complicated hand seals there." She seemed to have recovered from being tipped upside down, though he was sure her pride was probably a little bruised from the ordeal. He always had trouble differentiating enemies from friends, and sparring was a blurring of the lines that left him a little confused sometimes
