[First Round] Sora vs Arizen

Sora stood on one side of the center of the arena, his cloak billowing out behind him in the wind. He was prepared for this as he ever would be, he was here today to take the last step of proving himself worthy to be a chuunin. His people had suffered so much throughout history and even after all their struggling to gain a modicum of recognition and equality, they were still seen as inferior. HE would prove them all wrong, his people were proud and strong and he would show the world that the Henkaku were worthy of their praise and recognition here in this tournament. He pulled Andlat over his shoulder and hefted it in one hand as he stared down his opponent and waited for the match to start.

Arizen stood inside the arena, oppposite his opponent. At first he was nervous; after all, he knew just about zilch about his opponent's moves, but as the crowd cheered, he became as confident as ever. He was going to do the best he could to beat this guy. A rank up to Chuunin would bring Arizen closer than before to finding out just how strong he could get, to realising his potential as a shinobi. After 5 minutes of taking it all in, he spoke.

"I am Arizen of Morigakure. i wish you the best of luck in this fight."

"Begin"

The Proctor danced back as he announced the beginning of the fight and Sora rushed forward at his opponent, holding Andlat at the ready as he ran full pelt towards the other boy. This match was an unknown for him, he had no clue what his opponents abilities were but he knew that he had the upper hand during the beginning of the fight while his opponent tried to gather chakra. He rushed up close to Arizen and swung Andlat at his side, hoping to simply land a hit.

"Begin"

Arizen armed a kunai from his pocket, for the fight had begun. His opponent mist have been trying to land a hit while he charged up chakra, as he was rushing in with his hammer. Arizen jumped back a few metres to avoid the hammer while throwing a the kunai. He jumped back another couple of metres and began charging up chakra.

Sora knocked away the kunai with the head of Andlat, usint its broad surface to easily deflect the projectile, his opponent was severely underestimating him if he thought he could keep his distance forever. He followed the boy as he jumped back, keeping up with his speed and tried to land another hit as the boy landed. If he continued to jump back he would soon reach the wall and limit his movements, which Sora would take advantage of.

Just once more will do it. he thought, as he jumped back, yet another few metres. He was a few metres near the edge by now, and a couple of jumps more would have him backed up against the wall. This time, instead of charging up more chakra, he emitted a bright flash of katon chakra from all over his body, hoping to restrict his opponent's vision enough to safely land a hit.

The boy jumped back one more time and his stance shifted ever so slightly, causing Sora to pause for half a second. A bright flash of light exploded from the boys boy and Sora blinked as black spots spun in his vision, the damned guy had used one of the underhanded tactics of the shinobi. He stopped advancing towards the boy and stood with his guard up waiting for his next move, he didn't want to use any of his morphs yet and he wasn't eager to engage with his vision still compromised.

Ok, he's stopped moving. I just hope this works... He ran in closer and charged up some chakra again, this time with a shuriken at the ready. Instead of just blindly moving in to attack, he decided from the start he'd put some thinking into it.

Sora smiled as his opponent ran in closer to him, he had made a fatal error in closing the gap. Sora jumped forward and slammed his hammer into the ground, closing the gap in an instant and ensuring his opponent wouldn't be able to escape the range of his technique. A blue shockwave of energy radiated out from the hammer and the ground glowed blue as runes formed in a large circle around the pair. Sora felt his body float and watched as his opponent lifted off the ground as well, a flew of loose rocks and dust began floating as well and Sora felt weightless in the field. His opponent wouldn't be able to move around in the air, even Sora himself couldn't do that without morphing. He focused and felt his calves change, creating small jets which would allow him to kick through the air. "Sky Walk Jets!" He kicked off the air and closed the gap between himself and his opponent, swinging Andlat at his helpless opponent.

"Ugh!" instantly, Arizen's orginal plan fell down the drain, and he was forced to take the brunt of the hammer's onslaught. Though he tried to block with his hands, it still hurt. A lot.

This is bad, i won't be able to engage in close combat like this! In that case...

He decided not to spend his charged-up chakra just yet. He charged up more chakra and prayed he could take just one more hit.

Kushino sat in the crowds of people sitting on the edge of her seat with a widened smile across her face, she had been waiting for this very fight and finally she got to watch Sora in action. From the looks of it Sora was at an advantage, atleast for now anyways. Kushino stood from her seat as she watched Andlat hit Arizen, a loud cheer left Kushino's lips revealing a large sign in her hands saying ''Go your Highness Go!'' With a large cheeky face below it. ''Go Sora you can do it!'' She roared proudly.

When the hammer struck Sora released its energy and a blue glow erupted from the head of the hammer as a blue rune was inscribed onto Arizen's body, freezing his chakra and interrupting any charging he might have been doing. Sora morphed his arm and a cannon grew out of his right arm, glowing slightly with the natural energy of the Henkaku. Sora kicked up into the air until he was directly over the boy before raising his arm to point it directly at him. At this close range and with the inability to move Arizen would surely be hit by the blast. "Gaon Cannon!" The cannon on his arm exploded as a ball of bio-energy spewed from its end and shot directly at Arizen, Sora would then drop to the ground, hammer held at the ready.

"Argh!" Arizen was hopeless to resist the sheer power of the blast, His body hurt all over, and he was sure at least some of it was badly broken. Not to mention his charging was completely disrupted by the earlier hit. This pretty much seemed like the end of the battle for Arizen at this point.

Is this... over already? Was this really... All I could do? Thoughts like these kept running through his head as he floated. Wait... At the very least, he could try to charge up chakra again, as a last-ditch effort.

Fine. His next move may end the match for me, but I at least need to try to put up a fight. With that, Arizen armed a kunai and threw a shuriken at Sora while charging up some chakra.

The blue rcircle of runes faded as Sora reached the ground and he took advantage of the final moments where Arizen would be falling to the ground to charge at him once more with the hammer, this time trying to strike with an uppercut. He side-stepped the projectiles and closed the gap, trying for his uppercut to hurry the end of the fight. His opponent would be hurting after taking both a direct hit from the hammer and his cannon and he had no mind to torture the other guy. He wanted to finish this fight quickly.

Crap! He's going for it again! Arizen thought as he saw Sora readying an attack. But he had no time to react as he fell, and so he took the full hit from the brutal hammer once more, sending him flying a couple of metres before landing on his back. Surprising as it was, the impact he made with the floor didn't hurt as much as he thought. Not that it helped the current pain he was in

Is this... All my stength? He struggled to get back up. His left arm was broken, and his legs weren't too far off as well. Realistically, he couldn't do much anymore. "Ugh.." He almost collapsed as his legs couldn't support him properly.

Neru found a seat at the Sky Arena, next to an old man wearing spectacles. The fight had already started. Neru sat down his seat, the view was clear enough to see what was going on at the arena. He saw one of the participant get hammered and sent flying. "Hmm, interesting. I wonder what that hammer is capable of." Neru thought. "This fight seems like it's going to end, the other participant seems very hurt, hmm."

The cannon on Sora's arm hissed soflty as it began gathering energy once more, though it would be some time before he could use the shot once more. He gave his opponent a considering look, it took a lot of guts to keep getting up like that after taking such a succession of hits. Sora focused as he started moving towards Arizen and felt as the inside of his mouth changed, he held his hammer in front of his mouth and he spat, excreting a ball of sticky fluid which ignited as it passed over his teeth and stuck onto Andlat, causing the head of the hammer to flicker with flames. He rushed his opponent once more and swung the fiery head of the hammer at him once more, with his broken arm and injured legs Arizen would have trouble dodging it. This battle had become a simple matter of beating down on the boy until he forfeited, something the flames would help with.

Arizen picked up the kunai, and as Sora rushed in, he already had a chance to use it. He managed to throw the kunai with his good arm, but once again couldn't react to the hammer in time. On top of his current injuries he was now suffering from first degree burns. He stumbled back before falling on all fours.

That really could have been the other guy by now. Burnt and injured. With great difficulty he got up once more, got a kunai, and charged some chakra while stepping back as much as he could. It was now or never.

Sora dashed and ducked to the side to avoid the kunai, his opponents injuries had put him off balance and the trow was easily predictable. He stopped and grasped the haft of Andlat with both hands as he swung it as hard as he could, he had a strong feeling he would hit, his opponent had been on the back foot this whole fight and the act of throwing a kunai had given Sora the time he needed. When the hammer struck he would use the chakra freeze of Andlat once more, stopping any chakra the boy had managed to gather and ensuring the fight's finish.

Andlat Ability

"Ugh." The hammer hit right on the stomach, making Arizen keel over, though he still stood. He had been slowly losing consciousness ever since the cannon strike, and he was now at a critical point.

So this was all I could do now, huh... He couldn't even concentrate on his opponent as he uttered these last words.

"I... will remember... this battle... and improve... my skills."

He lost consciousness at that point, falling to the floor.

Sora slid his hammer back into its place on his back and turned to talk away as The Proctor stepped forward. "First round match, Sora vs Arizen. Sora wins! -ahem" Sora strode out of the arena and let his body change back to normal, he had won the fight without even taking a hit, surely this would give him some major points towards making Chuunin.

The match was over, the wounded participant had lost consciousness. The winner stood before him was the man with the hammer. "Hmm, oh well I guess he won. Props to the kid for surviving against those hammer attacks. Better watch out for him." Neru thought. He turned around to the elderly man, next to him, and asked "Who's the guy with the hammer?". The elderly man replied, 'That is Sora Henkaku.". "Sora Henkaku? Never heard of him before but he does seem to be tough competition."Neru stood up and left the bleachers and headed towards the lobby.

Spectator Post: I had been in the stands watching this fight and just shook my head as it was over nearly as fast as it started. This Princess Sora seemed to have some interesting skills and I had been correct in assuming he was someone to watch out for. No doubt we would meet eventually so this learning experience was invaluable.
